sink pour?
your description of that is spot on. you sir, have a good palette as i experienced the same with this WT beer but couldnt describe it till you did for me.
Looks decent and started off fairly decent but the taste let it down. Nice one 🍻
Golden, transparent, average head. Malt-hop aroma, wort-like taste, slightly sour, with low, pleasantly lingering bitterness in the mouth for a while.
A lot of black, dark chocolate, licorice, burnt bread crust, pumpernickel. Smooth, with a hint of plum and light smoke. Medium bitterness. A lot of black, dark chocolate, licorice, burnt bread crust, pumpernickel. Smooth, with a low liqueur alcohol feel. Medium bitterness. Just a nice well-balanced imperial Baltic porter. Cheers! Na zdrowie!
i agree regards the sour...though apart from Vault city i find most dont quite clear the palette in the way i would hope n we see more of the t-shirt design?
On keg at my local this evening - will definitely give it a go based on your review @All Hail The Ale 😋
love this beer.
Pilsner Urquell. The rumour has it that we never saved Czechoslovakia because we would have ruined it.
Always get a touch of Diacytl with this ,but with this style its not considered an off flavour, great review🍺🍺👍👍
Damn nick all this time and only just trying it! This is one of those lagers where I actually prefer it from the cans rather than bottles, be interesting to see what you think
Haven't had it for a while, but your review made me need to get some again soon. It's such a lovely beer.
You can buy a 6 pack of 330ml cans for £5 in Asda. Honestly can't think of a better beer deal available in the UK right now
Im not a great lover of this my Czech lager of choice is budvar
Don't drink lager because generally it's rubbish but I actually do make an exception when it comes to this...its a good un 👏👏
I've not seen Pineapple Express for a very long time and just noted that TR brew it with Pollys. Vocation is a cracking beer 🍻
@@thehoppytraveller I didn't notice that! It seems to be more TR influence that Polly's, sweet and artificial. Polly's are capable of so much more 👌🍻🍻
Will look out for that. Would you say it’s only a couple of cans per session then to move on to something else?
@muddyfunster69 for me personally it's a one and done, but I totally understand why others would smash a couple then try something else. I'd try this as a palate cleanser between stouts for example 👌🍻🍻
I enjoy your reviews, your channel should have so many more subscribers ! Top man, have a great weekend Nick.
Good review mate....... decent beer too.
Another walkover! Maybe predictably this time? ;) How about Northern Monk Faith vs Vocation Life & Death? That would be interesting
Ooh yes, those two would be a good rewind. Faith has changed, as have Life and Death....eyes peeled! And yes, a definite walk over!
I've never seen this anywhere. i am definitely seeking this out. I like mango. Not a rum drinker but it sounds like it's a subtle and great fit. Very interested in this one.
It's sublime bud, but subscriber only, and only short run :(
Go to Lidl ,they have the Czech brewed imported version in their stores, all other supermarkets Tesco Asda etc have the Burton on Trent version, great review by the way🍺🍺👍👍
I'll be off to Lidl for that soon, cheers mucka 🍻🍻
"New carpet scent" 😄 I bet there is no reference to that on the can. Jokes aside, i think i am going to pick a can up when is see it. Sounds like the kind of curiosity i would enjoy.
It definitely didn't lol. That said, I've had that aroma before with certain hops, sabro being one of them, and funnily enough, sabro is present in this one. It's a super tasty beer, hope you enjoy bud!
Right up my street 😋 Apart from the new carpet smell 🤣
I strongly suspect that the sabro hops are to blame there Don, but honestly, don't let it put you off trying, it's such a small note, and you really have to look for it 🍺🍺
Andy’s beer reviews said the same as you that the 5.2% is better than the 4.7% but like you said it shouldn’t be surprising 🍻
Off subject staropramen in Lidl is imported from Czech in a 500ml bottle might be a comparison video for ya
Well, it looks like another lager comparison in my future :D Cheers mucka!
We tried this last week and liked it. Im wondering if those where were naf prefer a sweet red like Ruby, dolce, Cienna etc. Theres an MLM that sells a sparkling N/A shiraz that we tried at a wedding last night. It tasted like grapetise and im not sure it was low carb. So if youre comparing it to those then yoy will be disappointed. If you're looking for flavour w/out the sweet... It's a good choice
Golden color, medium white foam. Aroma of citrus fruits, grass, grapefruit. The taste is similar to a refreshing dose of citrus and hops. Strong Grapefruit albedo bitterness. Easily drinkable.
This has been my double IPA of choice for the last 2 months. They have just re-released it with new artwork. I'm having one right now and it still does the right things to my taste buds with the bitter/sweet tussle in every mouthful. No idea where the 8% goes. It doesn't taste or feel like an IPA of such strength. Anyhow, its still my favorite evening refreshment.
It's so good isn't it? Exceptional for the money really, I need to revisit it soon. Cheers mate 🍻🍻
Definitely Heathen for me. I find some of the Beavertown aromas a bit eggy.
Lupuloid never used to be like that, which is a real shame. Didn't notice any sulphur aroma with this one, but then again, I'm not gonna get another to try and find out 🤣🤣
Cheers bud. Currently £3.15 in Waitrose. Bargain!
Oooh nice! May have to venture over the border to Cheshire and find a Waitrose 🍻🍻
Nice review. I prefer 'Sagres' but even better is 'Coral'. The Portugese lager to avoid like the black death is 'Cristal'.
I'll hunt down the Sagres, and avoid Cristal like the plague 🤣 Cheers bud 🍻🍻
Fair enough Nick, I look forward to your comparison with the 4.7!
Coming Sunday! Itching to see the difference. Might see if I can do it full on blindfold taste test to avoid bias 🍻🍻
@@AllHailTheAleyeah good idea!
🤡
This is the first Belgium quad I have ever had the pleasure of drinking! It was a 750ml bottle that i had pretty cold and drank it straight out of the bottle like i do most beers. I was hooked on this beer for a while until i moved on to other beers to try but this is a top beer for me, the Rochefort 10 and St Bernardus 12 are amazing as well.
It's soooo good isn't it! I do enjoy rhe St Bernardus 12, can recall right now if I've tried the Rochefort, will have to check. Cheers! 🍻🍻
Wipes the floor with most spanish lagers does this one Nick👍
Seems to so far!
Thanks. Im curious as to how dry you need to like your wines to enjoy this? A lot of video reactions like it but a lot of the commenters are naf. Trying to work out which family function to bring it to... inlaws are more akin to dry than my foo who love a sweet red like brown brothers cienna
I'll be honest, I'm probably the wrong person to ask about that, as I either like it or not 🤣 That said, I particularly enjoy drier wines, and this went down a storm.
Nick, Lidl are doing a Spanish and Portuguese week from Thursday 20th June and they are selling 6x250ml bottles of proper imported Super Bock at 5.2% for £4.99. You gotta get some to review! Cheers 🍻
Well, looks like I'll be off to Lidl soon!
@@AllHailTheAle I grabbed a pack on Thursday with a few others 👌🏻
@@AllHailTheAle you could do a comparison between the 5.2% from Lidl and the 4.7% from Tesco
@@NaRiCo94 I like that idea! Having picked up the 5.2% today from my Lidl expedition, I forsee an experiment next Sunday!
@@AllHailTheAle nice I look forward to it!
I hadn't seen your review of this one before, but was eager to hear what you thought of it when I saw it. Since I really loved this beer, I was pleased to see you give it some love, even when some of the qualities of it weren't necessarily your jam. I agree that this NA is one of the best I've tasted.
Cheers bud 🍻🍻
Thanks for this feedback idk from accent if youre in Australia or getting imported wolf.... We recently discovered brown brothers zero range and in particular ceinna is a family favourite but it is not easy to get in our town, the bottlo has to order it in. My inlaws like Prosecco Zero, which is easier to obtain (woolies and bottle shops stock it). BB Moscato Zero still has a lot of carbs (my family is now full of diabetics and Salvos... so zero it is, unless its date night for Hubs and I). Friends had a bottle they got from the supermarket and it was nasty, smelled like it was filtered through rubber boots. I wish i could remember the name to avoid... maybe if you keep making these someone watching can tell me 😂
Imported Wolf - based in the UK 👌 I've yet to find one that smells quite as you describe, but if I do, I'll confirm haha 🍷🍷
@@AllHailTheAle I think it was a Chardonnay? Some sort of flat white. It was pretty bad.
Ok, I tried the wolf last fortnight and McGuigen this week. Both were nice. Not sweet, though. There was an MLM brand at a wedding we attended last night, and it was sparkling (and sweet, not sure it was low carb, tbh)... so if you're picking this up from the supermarket, hoping it'll be similar, you will be disappointed. If however, you're trying to cut carbs and particularly sweet things but want flavour... it's a good choice.
Great review on this, I've got a bottle of this waiting for me to try as well. It is also 3 for £6 at Tesco too with Clubcard.
Nice one, not spotted it in my local Tesco, I should look closer just incase. 🍻🍻
Glad to hear you like it nick! A place in my town actually does it on draft but I haven’t tried it that way yet. You got hold of Estrella Galicia yet?
Cheers bud, I did indeed, picked it up with the Menebrea and Pilsner Urquell 👌🍻🍻
Nice one. I haven't had this one but I've had a few Italian beers which were surprisingly good 👍
This one definitely exceeded expectations, by a country mile 👌🍻🍻
it is certainly a good brew. i had a few already
Definitely is bud. Had another last night, slightly warmer to see how it affects the flavour. Definitely better properly cold 👌🍻🍻
thats so grassy, people wonder who is smoking weed when you open one :)
I know what you mean bud, had many potent beers where I've questioned that myself 🤣 Often a symptom of skunking, but more common in clear bottles. Cheers mucka 🍻🍻
Nice one Nick! Could you review Menabrea? It’s my favourite Italian lager so far! And also Estrella Galicia, cheers 🍻
Funny you mention those, I may have acquired both today for future reviews 🤣🍻🍻 your post may well have been the influence 😜
Estrella Galicia is next level.
Hope so bud! I missed out on sampling it on holiday in Spain last year due to injuries. It was in every bar and cafe I saw, and the little delivery trucks branded as Estrella were as common as milk floats used to be here haha
Great beer having a couple this afternoon, try the cans of Black sheep bitter in cans there lower abv 3.8 but nice and sessionable now in home and bargains, great review👍👍
Cheers matey, thanks for the kind words!
the body is exceptional, but without the weediness of mosaic is it worth a go?
I'd say so - it stands on its own merit, even without the dank goodness. Cheers mucka!
The expanse of your palate and understanding of flavour puzzles me. All I know is if I like it or not 😅 Tremendous review!
Does it have that strange non alcoholic flavor? I've been disappointed too many times.
Cheers bud! I just say it as I see it, and hope for the best haha! It doesn't have a weird AF flavour at all. Some do, but this one is properly decent, as is their Himla Humla - highly recommend both!
maybe they threw some nectaron or superdelic on there....... then you mentioned the ingredient Aroma..... humm
Yeah, flavourings/aromas are always a contentious one - I prefer the raw skill of brewing with basic ingredients.
